RIYADH: Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, adviser at the Royal Court and general supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, met with Carl Skau, acting executive director of the UN World Food Programme, in Riyadh on Thursday.
The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest related to humanitarian and relief affairs and ways to enhance prospects for cooperation between KSrelief and the UN organization in providing food assistance to affected groups worldwide.
Following the meeting, Skau visited the offices of KSrelief’s partner organizations and international bodies, accompanied by Ahmed Al-Baiz, assistant supervisor general of operations and programs at KSrelief.
In a press statement, Skau praised the strategic partnership between KSrelief and the UN organization spanning more than a decade, describing it as comprehensive and extending beyond financial support to include exchange of ideas, innovation, and humanitarian diplomacy.
He said that discussions covered joint humanitarian operations, particularly in Sudan, where parts of the country are facing famine, as well as the humanitarian situation in Yemen, Syria, and Gaza.
