RIYADH: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen signed an agreement with King Abdulaziz University’s Almobdioon Center for Studies and Research to implement a digital empowerment project for Yemeni teachers.

The project aims to strengthen the capabilities of 500 male and female teachers in Aden, Hadramout, Al-Mahra and Socotra in modern digital technologies.

It also seeks to enhance their professional and technical skills in the education process, the Saudi Press Agency recently reported.

Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber, general supervisor of the program, and Esam Kawther, CEO of the center, represented their respective sides at the signing ceremony.

Yemen’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Afrah Al-Zouba and Deputy Minister of Education for the Training Sector Zaid Qahtan joined the ceremony remotely.

The project will enhance teachers’ technical and professional skills through a specialized training program combining in-person and virtual learning. It will enable educators to effectively integrate modern technologies into the classroom.

The program includes two main tracks. The first focuses on artificial intelligence and content generation, equipping teachers to use AI tools in developing educational materials.

The second focuses on digital instructional design, enabling people to create interactive digital learning content in line with modern educational practices.

The project is part of the Saudi program’s broader efforts to support Yemen’s education sector and strengthen human capital through sustainable development initiatives. These efforts aim to build national capabilities and keep pace with digital transformation in education.
