DUBAI: Bahrain has banned citizens from traveling to Iran and Iraq until further notice ‌citing regional security ‌concerns, the ‌interior ministry said on Tuesday.

The ministry statement said that “it has been decided to prohibit citizens from traveling to both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq, until further notice.”

It said the decision was made due to the current security situation resulting from “the repercussions of the Iranian aggression, and out of concern for preserving the security of the homeland and the safety of all citizens.”

Necessary legal action would be taken against violators, state news agency BNA reported.
