RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has opened visa applications for the new Umrah season from Sunday, Dhul Hijjah 14, 1447, corresponding to May 31, 2026.

According to the Umrah season calendar for 1448, released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, pilgrims will be able to enter Makkah and obtain Umrah permits through the Nusuk application beginning Monday, June 1.

The ministry recently announced the new Umrah season calendar, which outlines the schedule and electronic services linked to visa issuance, contracting, and welcoming pilgrims.

This comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to enhance operational efficiency, elevate the experience for pilgrims, and raise the readiness of the Umrah ecosystem for the upcoming season.

Shawwal 1, 1448, corresponding to March 9, 2027, will be the final date for Umrah visa issuance, and Shawwal 15, 1448 (March 23, 2027), will be the final date for Umrah pilgrim entry into the Kingdom.

The ministry confirmed that Shawwal 30, 1448, corresponding to April 7, 2027, will be the final date for Umrah pilgrim departure.

The ministry called on Umrah service providers and overseas agents to adhere to the approved schedule and comply with all regulations and instructions issued by the MoHU to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to pilgrims throughout the season.

Arif Anwar, an Alkhobar resident, welcomed the announcement, telling Arab News: “I was waiting for the announcement by the ministry to open visa applications for the new Umrah season. I saw the report about it and am looking forward to applying for it for my parents-in-law to come for Umrah. Now, I will follow up to get the Umrah visa as advised by the ministry.”
