Riyadh’s dining scene is already home to celebrated homegrown brands and renowned celebrity chefs — and now it is welcoming Blackish.
Located in the Mohammadiya district, this bold new concept offers street food inspired by American and Asian flavours, making it a worthy addition to the city’s ever-evolving culinary landscape. If you want to put this restaurant on your radar, here is everything you need to know.
Designed for those who crave bold flavors and a relaxed atmosphere, Blackish combines a contemporary, casual vibe with a deep focus on beef and culinary craftsmanship.
The venue is easy to spot, thanks to its large monochrome sign. Inside, you will find a modern, spacious interior where you can sit at long tables and watch the chefs at work — an open kitchen experience that adds an exciting, theatrical dimension to your meal.
Stepping inside, the window display of fresh cuts of meat immediately sets the tone.
There are no traditional plates here, just sleek steel tables lined with red paper where your food is spread out for a raw, communal dining experience.
The menu leans heavily into bold Asian-inspired street food, balancing smoky grill flavors with spicy, punchy seasonings.
Small plates such as chilli garlic shrimp and crispy shredded beef make for a strong start, while noodle dishes bring together the same signature mix of heat, savory depth and satisfying texture.
For mains, the focus shifts to charcoal-grilled meats and indulgent burgers, with options ranging from ribeye and tri-tip to ribs and smash burgers. Paired with sides such as curly charcoal corn and hand-cut fries, the menu offers plenty of variety while staying true to its fusion of American comfort food and Asian street-food influences.
For my visit, I ordered the beef tri-tip with ribs and the curly charcoal corn. The ribs are a solid choice for meat lovers — juicy, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. I found this dish to be on the greasier side, which may not suit everyone.
The corn was a delightful companion — charred, flavorful, and a perfect contrast to the richness of the mains. For those who prefer lighter options, I would recommend the shrimp dishes. Most portions are generous and ideal for sharing.
Overall, Blackish delivers a memorable dining experience; improvements in ventilation would make it even better, but it is absolutely worth a visit.
Open daily from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
