MAKKAH: The Kingdom’s Unified Media Operations Center at the Ministry of Media held its third press briefing for the Hajj season.
Ministry of Interior security spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Talal bin Shalhoub, said that security and traffic plans were successfully implemented during pilgrim movement to Arafat, then to Muzdalifah, and back to Mina with smooth flow and safety.
Shalhoub said that enforcement of Hajj regulations, pilgrims’ adherence to schedules, and effective crowd management, in coordination with the Presidency of State Security and other authorities, enabled the safe performance of Jamarat Al-Aqaba stoning and Tawaf Al-Ifadah.
Hajj transport and logistics spokesperson, Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, highlighted the role of the General Transport Center under the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites in boosting operational capacity through central stations.
More than 2,500 buses operated around the clock, transporting pilgrims from arrival points, with some routes running for up to 57 consecutive hours.
He said that 24 parking areas with capacity for 20,000 buses were prepared, helping to ease congestion and improve punctuality.
Al-Otaib added that mobile caravans equipped with air-conditioning were deployed to assist pilgrims in case of bus breakdowns.
The logistics system has also shipped more than 400,000 containers of Zamzam water to various countries.
