MADRID: A delegation from the Syrian Interior Ministry took part in a special seminar in Madrid on risk assessment and crisis management in correctional institutions, alongside regional and international experts.
The event was organized in coordination with the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences and brought together specialists in prison administration, correctional systems and institutional security.
The ministry said on its Telegram channel on Sunday that the delegation was headed by Brig. Gen. Ziad Abu Ras, director of the general administration of prisons and correctional facilities, and included several officers working in correctional administration.
According to the ministry, the participation comes within the framework of efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in crisis management and the development of correctional and rehabilitation systems.
The seminar addressed mechanisms for assessing risks in correctional institutions, methods for handling crises and emergencies, as well as modern practices related to prison administration and improving staff efficiency.
The ministry said the participation reflects ongoing efforts to enhance institutional cooperation and develop professional capabilities in Syria’s security and correctional sectors.
