ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Türkiye will form a joint team of health experts to identify areas of cooperation and mutual learning in the health sector, state media reported on Tuesday, quoting the health minister.
Pakistan’s health sector faces persistent challenges, including limited public spending, uneven access to care and reliance on imported medical equipment, making international partnerships a key part of efforts to improve capacity and outcomes.
The initiative with Türkiye is aimed at strengthening bilateral collaboration in health care, including improving systems, expanding investment and sharing technical expertise between the two countries.
“A joint team comprising health experts from Pakistan and Turkiye will be formed to identify areas where both countries can benefit from each other’s experiences in the health sector,” Radio Pakistan reported on Tuesday, after Federal Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal met Turkiye’s ambassador in Islamabad.
Officials said the talks also focused on promoting public-private partnerships and exploring investment opportunities to strengthen health care infrastructure.
Both countries agreed to expand collaboration in the production, trade and technology transfer of medical devices and other health care products, according to the report.
