LONDON: Google has launched Personal Intelligence in the Gemini app for users across the Arab world, expanding access to a feature that can draw on connected services such as Gmail and Google Photos to generate more personalized responses.
The capability, which was introduced in the US earlier this year, allows users to link selected Google apps so Gemini can use relevant information to answer questions, assist with planning and surface details from their own content.
Google said the feature is off by default, and users remain in control of which apps are connected.
It added that Gemini will cite or explain the information it uses from linked sources where possible, helping users verify the response.
“This capability has two core strengths: reasoning across complex sources and retrieving specific details from, say, an email or photo to answer questions,” Google said in a recent statement.
“It often combines these, working across text, photos and video to provide uniquely tailored answers.”
The company said the tool can help with tasks ranging from recommending a book to building a travel itinerary, using a user’s own history and preferences to shape the response.
Personal Intelligence is now available to subscribers of Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra in the Arab world.
Google said it plans to roll out the feature to free users in the coming weeks.
Users must enable it manually through Gemini settings and select the connected apps they want to use.
