The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission inaugurated the Saudi pavilion at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in the historic capital of the Emilia-Romagna region, in northern Italy.
The fair runs from April 13-16.
The participation reflects the Kingdom’s growing presence in global publishing and strengthens its position on the international cultural stage, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Commission CEO Abdullatif Al-Wasel said the participation supports their objectives of putting the spotlight on Saudi Arabia’s dynamic cultural landscape and rich identity.
It aims to strengthen the presence of Saudi cultural and intellectual institutions at international events and promote programs in literature, publishing, and translation, he added.
The initiative will help build partnerships with global publishing stakeholders and expand opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange, he said.
Al-Wasel highlighted that the Bologna Children’s Book Fair is a leading global platform for children’s publishing, bringing together publishers, creators, and experts.
Saudi participation includes a cultural program at the pavilion that features seminars and panel discussions with Saudi writers.
