KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that its air defense systems had detected and engaged seven drones in the last 24 hours.
In a media briefing conducted at the Government Communication Center, Col. Saud Al-Atwan, the Ministry of Defense spokesman, confirmed that the Kuwait Armed Forces effectively intercepted the hostile targets within the designated operational zones.
The Iranian attacks targeted a number of facilities belonging to Kuwait National Guard, which resulted in some personnel being injured, Al-Atwan said, as quoted by Kuwait News Agency.
The injured were in a stable condition, yet major material damage was reported, noted Al-Atwan, who added that the army bomb disposal squad had also dealt with 14 incidents in the last 24 hours.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior on Wednesday reported “severe material damage” at several vital facilities of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation after an Iranian drone attack.
