DUBAI: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday strongly condemned the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards by an Israeli minister, calling it a “provocative” act carried out under the protection of Israeli forces.
In a statement, the Kingdom rejected what it described as ongoing Israeli violations of international law and warned against actions that inflame religious tensions across the Muslim world. Riyadh reiterated the need to respect the historical and legal status of Al Aqsa, one of Islam’s holiest sites.
The statement also called on the international community to take responsibility for halting violations against Palestinians and safeguarding religious and historical sites in occupied territories. It urged accountability for what it described as repeated and serious breaches.
The condemnation comes amid recurring tensions in Jerusalem, where visits by Israeli officials to the Al Aqsa compound have frequently drawn regional and international backlash.
