Israel says it killed Revolutionary Guard intel chief, vows to hunt down Iran leaders ‘one by one’

  • Israel said it killed the intelligence chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard on Monday
  • Israel’s military also said it had killed the commander of the special operations unit of Iran’s Quds Force

TEHRAN: Israel said it killed the intelligence chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard on Monday.
Defense Minister Israel Katz made the announcement.
“The Revolutionary Guard are shooting at civilians and we are eliminating the leaders of the terrorists,” Katz said. “Iran’s leaders live with a sense of being targeted. We will continue to hunt them down one by one.”
Katz added that Israel had “severely damaged” Iran’s steel and petrochemical industries as well.
“We will continue to crush the Iranian national infrastructure and lead to the erosion and collapse of the terrorist regime, and its capabilities to promote terror and fire at the state of Israel,” he said.

The head of intelligence for Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, Maj. Gen. Majid Khademi, was killed on Monday following US-Israeli strikes, the Guards said.
“Major General Majid Khademi, the powerful and educated head of the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was martyred in the criminal terrorist attack by the American-Zionist enemy... at dawn today,” said the Guards in a post on their Telegram channel.

Israel’s military also said Monday it had killed the commander of the special operations unit of Iran’s Quds Force in a strike on Tehran a day earlier.
The Quds Force is the foreign operations arm of Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guards.
“Yesterday, the Israeli Air Force... conducted a strike in Tehran and eliminated Asghar Bagheri, Commander of the Quds Force’s Special Operations Unit (840) since 2019,” a military statement said.
It added that Bagheri had in recent years held a series of senior positions within the Quds Force and “was involved in attacks targeting Israeli and American individuals worldwide.”
