MAKKAH: Umm Al-Qura University, in cooperation with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, has concluded the third season of The Historical and Enrichment Sites Hackathon, which was launched at the beginning of March.

The hackathon was held as part of the activities accompanying the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum, organized by the Hajj Ministry.

The hackathon was organized to harness the power of innovative minds in a stimulating, competitive environment.

Around 300 applicants participated, presenting 40 innovative projects from more than 32 countries, under the supervision of 16 judges, 11 trainers, and 10 mentors from various relevant entities.

The hackathon also included a rich package of accompanying programs, including training courses, guidance sessions, and educational tours, which contributed to the development of participants’ skills and enhanced their innovative outputs.

Organizing the hackathon extends the university’s role in supporting the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
