RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources processed 697 chemical clearance requests during February, as part of its efforts to enable industrial investment and support the growth and expansion of industrial facilities.
Ministry spokesperson Jarrah bin Mohammed Al-Jarrah said the processed requests included 668 applications for clearance of unrestricted chemical imports and 29 applications for permits to import restricted chemicals, noting that the requests covered a total of 1,758 items.
Al-Jarrah explained that the chemical clearance service enables industrial investors to request import or export clearance for chemicals used in industrial facilities.
He said applications are submitted through the “Senaei” platform, adding that the service aims to ensure that chemical clearances are granted through streamlined procedures and in a timely manner, facilitating the entry of materials through ports.
He emphasized the importance of the service in enhancing industrial output by streamlining and developing mechanisms for obtaining clearances for chemicals used in production, as well as automating these processes within the industrial sector’s digital services platform, thereby strengthening digital services that support industrial investors.
In 2023, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef launched the new version of the “Senaei” platform, which includes more than 30 services and provides digital access for industrial investors.
The ministry said the upgraded platform incorporates several digital services aligned with the “Future Factories” program.
