RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, took part in a session devoted to transnational threats during a meeting of G7 foreign ministers in France on Friday, and held talks with his Indian counterpart.
The session was part of a wider G7 ministerial gathering and meetings with invited partner countries, of which the Kingdom is one.
The discussions focused on international threats and ways in which rapid responses to such incidents can be coordinated, as well as enhancements to maritime and port security, efforts to tackle transnational crime, and ways to strengthen vital mineral supply chains.

In a separate meeting, the prince and India’s minister of external affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, reviewed relations between their countries and explored ways in which cooperation might be enhanced in various fields, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
They also discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
The Kingdom’s ambassador to France, Fahd Al-Ruwaili, and the director general of the foreign minister’s office, Waleed Al-Smaeel, also attended the meeting.
