  • Pilgrims were provided with detailed explanations of Umrah rituals

RIYADH: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs provided about 2.3 million awareness services to pilgrims and Umrah performers in Makkah during Ramadan, the Saudi Press Agency recently reported.

The activities included daily lessons and awareness lectures in hotel prayer halls, several mosques in the central area and field locations operating around the clock in multiple international languages.

Pilgrims were provided with detailed explanations of Umrah rituals, the rules and virtues of fasting, and the principles of moderation and balance, in addition to answers to religious inquiries related to acts of worship and explanations of the virtues and sanctity of Makkah.

The ministry also distributed booklets and guidance publications in multiple languages and operated digital screens with QR codes, enabling visitors to access the electronic library and download religious materials via smartphones.

It also activated video-call and toll-free phone services in more than 40 international languages, the SPA reported.

These efforts reflect the integration of field services and modern technologies to improve organization and smooth movement within the Grand Mosque and its surroundings, promote the tolerant values of Islam, and highlight the Kingdom’s role in serving Islam and Muslims.
