JEDDAH: Jeddah Transport Co. has recently launched two new routes within the city’s bus network as part of efforts to expand public transport services and improve mobility for residents and visitors.
The expansion includes Route 15, serving Prince Sultan Road, and Route 16, linking the Jeddah Corniche with Prince Faisal bin Fahd Road, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.
The new routes aim to strengthen connectivity between key areas and offer more flexible travel options, the SPA added.
Buses will operate daily from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., with extended hours until 2 a.m. on Thursdays and Fridays to accommodate peak demand and evening activity.
Route 16 will run through 15 stops, with buses every 45 minutes and up to 30 trips per day. Route 15 will operate every 35 minutes, providing up to 35 trips daily, enhancing service efficiency and increasing transport options.
The CEO of Jeddah Transport Co., Yousef Al-Sayegh, said the launch marks another step in developing Jeddah’s public transport system in line with the city’s rapid growth.
“At Jeddah Transport Co., we are working to continuously expand the bus network to provide reliable and accessible transport options that improve the travel experience and quality of life, in line with Saudi Vision 2030,” he said.
The company urged users to download the Jeddah Buses app to plan journeys and view routes and schedules in real time.
Al-Sayegh added that the company will continue to expand routes and improve services to provide modern, safe, and sustainable transport solutions across the city.
