DUBAI: Gulf countries continue to come under fire from hundreds of drones and missiles as the US-Iran war continues.
On Thursday UAE air defenses dealt with seven ballistic missiles and 15 drones, state news agency WAM reported.
Since the start of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defenses have dealt with 334 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1714 drones and the numbers seem to be growing.
The attacks resulted in the deaths of two members of the armed forces, and the deaths of six civilians of Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationality, there’s also been 158 people injured.
“The Ministry of Defense affirms that it is on high alert and readiness to deal with any threats and to firmly confront everything that targets undermining the state's security, in a manner that ensures the preservation of its sovereignty, security, and stability, and protects its interests and national capabilities,” the statement added.
Meanwhile in Bahrain the defense forces air defence systems have continued to counter successive waves of Iranian attacks.
Since the onset of hostilities, air defences have intercepted and destroyed 134 ballistic missiles and 238 drones targeting Bahrain.
