Hail Municipality intensifies food inspections

RIYADH: The Hail Municipality has intensified its field inspections of food establishments and commercial markets throughout the city during Ramadan to enhance food safety, raise compliance with health and municipal regulations, and protect consumers.

The municipality said that inspection teams conducted intensive tours covering markets, shops, restaurants, bakeries, sweet shops, and food warehouses, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

These visits verify that employees possess valid health certificates, wear the required uniforms, and adhere to strict personal hygiene standards.

Additionally, inspections were carried out at 10 sites designated for iftar meals in several neighborhoods and public squares to ensure compliance with public hygiene standards, safe storage practices, and product validity.

The municipality said that several offenses were recorded during the inspections, with legal measures taken against the offenders in accordance with regulations.

It emphasized that these monitoring campaigns will continue throughout Ramadan under an operational plan that includes increasing the number of field teams and expanding the scope of coverage.
