CAIRO: Egypt and Saudi Arabia stressed the urgency of reaching a humanitarian truce in Sudan, the Egyptian foreign ministry said Sunday.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan during a phone call stressed the need for an inclusive political process led by Sudanese parties.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity while highlighting the serious violations in El-Fasher committed by militias against civillians.

The two ministers also discussed escalation across the region and stressed the importance of stepping up efforts to contain crises through diplomacy and dialogue, it added.
