RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has distributed 1,200 food baskets to displaced and vulnerable families in the Kosti locality of White Nile state, Sudan, benefiting 7,669 individuals.
The aid agency aims to support food security, alleviating suffering caused by the conflict that began in April 2023, and which has so far resulted in millions of refugees.
The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and the military have been at war in the country. The conflict has seen multiple atrocities and pushed Sudan into one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
The US has accused the paramilitary troops of committing genocide in Darfur during the war, and rights groups said that the RSF committed war crimes during the siege and seizure of El-Fasher, as well as in the capture of other cities in Darfur.
