Pods of dolphins delight visitors in Al-Lith

JEDDAH: The islands of Al-Lith governorate have played host to a striking natural spectacle over the past several days, as successive pods of dolphins appear near the beaches and waterways.

These sightings have enriched the ecotourism experience and reinforced the governorate’s reputation as a promising marine destination on the coastal tourism map.

The dolphins’ presence coincided with increased activity among visitors, sea enthusiasts and photographers, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.

Gracefully gliding through the water, the dolphins leapt and spun in perfect harmony, as if welcoming onlookers, the SPA added.

These moments were quickly captured and widely shared, showcasing the beauty of the marine environment and the pristine waters of the Red Sea south of Makkah.

The phenomenon reflects a healthy marine ecosystem around Al-Lith islands and highlights the success of efforts to protect wildlife and promote environmental sustainability, the SPA reported.

It also aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to develop ecotourism and invest in natural resources while preserving ecological balance.

Experts note that the recurrence of such scenes creates opportunities for responsible tourism, enhances the region’s economic value, and supports activities such as marine excursions, environmental exploration and nature photography, offering a model that balances enjoyment with conservation.
