RIYADH: The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, also known as Wrth, concluded its second annual Wrth Camp training and educational program, held on Al-Uqair Beach in Al-Ahsa from Nov. 17 to Dec. 17.
The 30-day program offered a blended learning and practical experience, combining craftsmanship, design, and hands-on learning.
The camp is a unique program designed to provide a practical educational model that connects trainees with the local traditional arts of the regions where it is held, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Through Wrth Camp, more than 50 participants from various regions of the Kingdom were able to participate in an integrated educational experience that combined theoretical and practical training. The program was conducted under the supervision of a select group of experts and trainers from Wrth.
The experience resulted in the production of three joint artworks, all executed by hand and rooted in the traditional arts associated with the identity of Al-Ahsa governorate. These included a mural of the Al-Ahsa bisht, which was executed at the Emirate of Al-Ahsa Governorate, as well as the plaster sculptures created in Al-Hofuf.
The program produced a work at Al-Ahsa International Airport that combines plaster with Al-Ahsa doors.
