LONDON: King Abdullah II of Jordan and the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed on Monday ways to enhance the strategic partnership between Amman and Beijing.
The meeting, which included Crown Prince Hussein, focused on enhancing economic and investment cooperation.
Turning to developments in the Middle East, King Abdullah called for greater international efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, highlighting the need for cooperation between China and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization.
He highlighted the need to adhere to the ceasefire in Gaza, stop attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank, and said that a two-state solution is essential for achieving lasting peace, according to the Petra news agency.
In a separate meeting, Wang discussed with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, prospects for cooperation in the sectors of the economy, trade, investment, technology, and tourism.
Safadi and Wang discussed the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, highlighting the need for sufficient and continuous humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Safadi emphasized the importance of stopping illegal Israeli actions in the West Bank and violations in Jerusalem and its holy sites, Petra added.
