LONDON: Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor-general of KSrelief, has highlighted Saudi Arabia’s leading role in global humanitarian work.
Delivering a lecture on humanity in medicine at the Zayed Centre for Research into Rare Disease in Children at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Al-Rabeeah said the Kingdom had carried out 8,406 humanitarian, relief, development and charitable projects worth more than $142 billion across 173 countries.
This ranked it first in the Arab world and meant it was one of the top donors worldwide.
Al-Rabeeah added that, under the guidance of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom’s humanitarian efforts had expanded significantly.
Since its establishment in 2015, KSrelief alone has implemented 3,881 projects valued at over $8.25 billion in 109 countries, covering key sectors including health, food security, education and water.
