PARIS: Greenland is a European territory and it is normal that Europe and France show their interest, French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barrot told RTL radio on Sunday when asked about French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to the Arctic island.
Macron visits Greenland on Sunday, in a show of solidarity with Denmark that is meant to send a signal of European resolve after US President Donald Trump threatened to take over the island.

KYIV: Ukraine will not accept the United States making deals with Russia about Ukrainian sovereignty unless Kyiv is also involved, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
“Ukraine will not support even such possible agreements between the parties about us without us,” Zelensky said in remarks embargoed until early Saturday.
Zelensky said the United States wants Ukraine and Russia to end their war by June, and has offered to host talks between the two sides next week.
“The United States has proposed for the first time that the two negotiating teams — Ukraine and Russia — meet in the United States, probably in Miami, in a week’s time,” Zelensky said in remarks embargoed until early Saturday.
“They say that they want to do everything by June,” he added.
