Saudi FM holds meetings ahead of Arab-Islamic Summit on Gaza, Lebanon wars

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a series of meetings in Riyadh on Sunday with his counterparts from the region ahead of the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit taking place on Monday.

Prince Faisal met with Palestine’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Mustafa, Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh, Lebanon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdallah Bou Habib, and Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.

Discussions focused on efforts to address the humanitarian and political challenges facing the region, including Israel’s ongoing wars on Gaza and Lebanon, according to several reports carried by the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday.

The leaders emphasized the importance of collective action within the framework of the summit’s agenda, and the need for dialogue to resolve issues.

During discussions with Lebanon’s FM, Prince Faisal reviewed current issues affecting the country amid Israel’s attacks.

All the meetings were attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Dr. Saud bin Mohammed Al-Sati, and Director-General of the Foreign Minister’s Office Abdulrahman Al-Dawood.

LONDON: Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the Palestinian prime minister, Mohammed Mustafa, on Tuesday discussed the latest developments in Gaza.

During their meeting, which took place at the annual gathering of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, they also reviewed bilateral relations and cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Other Saudi officials present at the meeting included the Kingdom’s ambassador to Switzerland, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood; the director general of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed Al-Ismail; and Mohammed Alyahya, an advisor to the foreign minister.
