KSrelief provides heart and brain care in Yemen and Indonesia

RIYADH: The Kingdom’s aid agency KSrelief is providing several heart and brain health programs in Yemen and Indonesia, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday.

In the Mukalla district of Yemen’s Hadramout governorate, the project started on Aug. 17 and will run until Aug. 24 as a part of the “Saudi Pulse” program for heart diseases.

KSrelief’s medical team has already performed 25 specialized surgical procedures.

Also in Yemen, KSrelief is in the final stages of a volunteer neurosurgery project in Aden, which started on Aug. 16 and runs until Aug. 23.

There are 16 volunteers from various medical fields working in partnership with the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen.

The medical team has examined 102 patients and performed nine operations.

In Indonesia the project ran from Aug. 7 to 16, with 23 volunteers carrying out 32 open-heart operations and 60 catheterization procedures.

Saudi FM meets with UN humanitarian chief

RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher in Davos on Friday.

During the meeting which took place on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, areas of joint cooperation and ways to enhance it were discussed, Saudi Press Agency reported.
