ISLAMABAD: A Turkish naval ship anchored on the southern Pakistani port of Karachi on a good will visit, the Pakistan Navy said on Tuesday, with officials of the two navies expected to hold discussions on coordinated sea patrol among other affairs.
The Turkish naval ship, TCG KINALIADA (F-514), was received by a Pakistan Navy ship at sea and later welcomed at the Karachi port by senior Pakistan Navy officials along with diplomatic staff of Turkish consulate.
During its stay at the port, the commanding officer of Turkish ship will call on Pakistan Navy field commanders and other dignitaries to discuss matters of mutual interest, according to Pakistan Navy.
“With an aim to strengthen mutual cooperation and integration between the two navies, joint interactions including planning of coordinated sea patrol and discussions on other professional topics will also be conducted,” the Pakistan Navy said in a statement.
The visit of Turkish Navy ship to Pakistan is a manifestation of historic bilateral ties between both countries and strong collaboration between the two navies.
In recent years, Pakistan has acquired multiple MILGEM Corvette ships from Turkiye, representing a significant milestone in the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Turkiye.
