AJMAN, UAE, 23 June 2004 — Gulf Medical College, Ajman (GMCA) has received official approval from the UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for its MBBS Program.

The graduation certificate of Gulf Medical College will be attested by the ministry and will in theory be recognized worldwide, according to a press release from the college.

Gulf Medical College has been operating since 1998 and now places placed all its final year students in various Ministry of Health-approved hospitals for internship. “The main aim of GMCA is to impart high-quality medical education to both boys and girls of all nationalities,” the press release said.

Its MBBS degree program takes five years plus one year of internship training for an annual intake of 60 students.

The college has students from over 36 nationalities. Its clinical students are sponsored each year by the college to participate in clinical training in leading universities and hospitals in several countries, including the US, UK, Germany, India, Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

The Gulf Medical College Hospital and Research Center, Ajman is the first university hospital in the UAE with a capacity of 150 beds.

Apart from the academic programs, the college also conducts continuing education events.
