Tokyo governor, Saudi ambassador discuss cultural ties

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador-designate to Japan, Ghazi Binzagr, discussed cultural ties between the Kingdom and Japan with Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko on Friday.

Binzagr shared on X that he was inspired by Koike’s knowledge and experience.

“Koike speaks Arabic and is a graduate of sociology from the University of Cairo ... She has held many important posts during her illustrious career, including the post of Minister of Defense,” the ambassador shared.

The two officials discussed how Japan and Saudi Arabia can expand their cultural ties and bring the two countries together.

Binzagr, who was appointed ambassador in January, visited Japan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Okano Masataka earlier this month.

“I truly look forward to working with the Ministry and everyone in Japan to build a deeper rooting in the distinguished historical connection already in place between the two countries,” he said on X.
