Saudi FM and Blinken discuss developments in Gaza during call

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Tuesday received a phone call from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the Kingdom’s foreign ministry announced. 

During the call, the two sides discussed regional developments, particularly in the Gaza Strip, and efforts to deal with the security and humanitarian repercussions in the besieged Palestinian territory. 

A State Department readout said Blinken thanked the minister for Saudi Arabia’s generous humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in need.

Blinken also “emphasized the United States’ commitment to achieving sustained peace through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with security guarantees for Israel.”

The pair also discussed “the importance of ending the conflict in Sudan and preventing further widespread civilian harm.”

King Salman arrives in Jeddah from Riyadh

JEDDAH: King Salman arrived in Jeddah on Tuesday, having travelled from Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The king was received upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, deputy governor of the Makkah Region.

Accompanying King Salman were a number of senior princes and officials, including Prince Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, governor of Al-Baha Region, as well as advisers and members of the royal court and royal guard, the SPA added.

Earlier in the day, King Salman departed Riyadh from King Khalid International Airport, where he was seen off by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, governor of the Riyadh Region, and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, deputy governor of the Riyadh Region.
