In Saudi Arabia, BenQ has achieved sales growth of more than 20 percent on this quarter last year, building upon its relationship with local reseller partner, ESAP.

Since the launch of its rebranded operations in the Kingdom in April 2002, BenQ’s growth strategy focused on diversifying the product mix offered to customers. While initial sales campaigns concentrated on BenQ’s popular range of CRT monitors, the company is now making available a broader range of products, including LCD monitors, LCD televisions, digital cameras and DVD/CD rewriters.

“We are delighted that we have captured market share in the highly-competitive Saudi Arabian market, because it represents about 40 percent of the total Middle East market and offers huge opportunities for growth,” said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ Middle East.

“The Saudi Arabian market is highly sophisticated, and the growing use of high-end Internet and computer technology is fueling demand for products like LCD monitors and DVD/CD rewriters,” commented Mahmoud Barrawi, vice president, ESAP.

Looking to the future, BenQ sees significant opportunities for increased sales of key products in Saudi Arabia, particularly for its latest range of digital projectors. Experts within the digital display team at BenQ are predicting 100 percent growth for projector sales over the next 12 months. In addition, BenQ plans to launch a number of cutting-edge technologies in Saudi Arabia, including its newest LCD television and its latest range of imaging products.
