RAWALPINDI: Pakistan captain Babar Azam won his second successive toss and elected to field in the second one-day international against New Zealand on Saturday.

Pakistan leads the five-match series 1-0 after Fakhar Zaman’s ninth ODI hundred anchored the home team to a five-wicket win on Thursday.

Pakistan, with an eye on this year’s World Cup in India, decided to test its bench strength and awarded an ODI debut to fast bowler Ihsanullah, who replaced Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Shan Masood and Shadab Khan were also rested as the home team brought in middle-order batter Abdullah Shafique and leg-spinner Usama Mir.

New Zealand also made a couple of changes with all-rounder James Neesham and Henry Shipley replacing Adam Milne and Blair Tickner from the side which lost the first game.

Karachi will host the remaining three games next week.
