DUBAI: The new Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi met with the UK’s trade commissioner for the Middle East Simon Penney on Tuesday.
During their meeting on the sidelines of the World Government Summit 2023 in Dubai, the officials discussed several issues of joint interest and enhancing the commercial exchange and investment between Gulf countries and the UK.
Albudaiwi and Penney also followed up on Free Trade Agreement negotiations between the UK and the bloc.
Penney said he looked forward to working closely with Albudaiwi “as we progress UK-GCC Free Trade Agreement negotiations to secure economic growth across” Britain and the bloc.
