Saudi Arabia lifts all health restrictions for Egyptian Umrah performers

CAIRO: Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah met the Egyptian minister of tourism and antiquities, Ahmed Issa, in Cairo on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Abdelfattah Mashat, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Osama Nugali, and a number of other officials.

Bilateral cooperation and services provided by Saudi Arabia to pilgrims were reviewed during the talks.

The meeting was part of a two-day official visit by Al-Rabiah, an extension of efforts to facilitate the arrival of pilgrims in cooperation with the relevant ministries in the two countries.

Al-Rabiah recently announced that all health restrictions have been lifted for Egyptian Umrah performers.

The move, which is based on the directives of King Salman, comes within the country’s framework to facilitate procedures related to performing Umrah.

During a press conference at the Saudi Embassy in Cairo, the minister highlighted some of the electronic services provided via the nusuk.sa platform, which include obtaining Umrah and visitor visas around the clock, as well as transport and accommodation services.
