JEDDAH, 28 August — Pizza Hut is one of those things that you can always count on.  I mean it’s everywhere! Wherever you go, whether it’s England, Greece, France, Moscow, Hong Kong or the States, you’re sure to find it. Some might find that annoying; on the other hand I think it’s comforting. I know kids love it for there is often a play area.  Plus almost everybody loves pizza.
Pizza Hut is the world’s largest pizza restaurant chain with nearly 12,000 units and kiosks in more than 88 countries. Pizza Hut serves more than 1.7 million pizzas every day, to approximately 4 million customers worldwide.
If you’re having a bad hair day or don’t feel like mingling with the sophisticated diners or aren’t in the mood to stand in line for your meal. Pizza Hut is one of the few restaurants that feels like a fast food place. You get waited on but naturally you’ll pay for that — you see service requires a service charge. The service is fast and friendly.
The waiters are always very helpful and cooperative.
The food is mostly good. The salad bar, however, is the best part. They’ve got it all: potato salad, kidney beans, peas, corn, pineapple slices, hummus, and very good cheese too.
They also have macaroni with raisins. I have waited so long to complain about those pesky raisins. You have a choice between four different dressings: Italian, French, Bleu Cheese and Thousand Island.
As for the pizza, which it’s famous for, it is quite unique. The deep pan pizza is the best. They also have thin crust, stuffed crust and the big New Yorker. The dough is soft, light and buttery. People complain about the pizzas being too oily but I can’t help but ignore that whenever I see a pizza sizzling in front of me.
They have a delicious sandwich called the super supreme sandwich. It’s got: Fresh lettuce, tomatoes, mortadella, pepperoni and most importantly mayonnaise. It’s big and will make your mouth water. I also tried their cheese sandwiches, which were a treat.
Their lasagna is tasty.  I know some people who wouldn’t be caught ordering anything else. The spaghetti Bolognaise is a disappointment to say the least. It’s oily and really meaty and the beef is heavy and chunky. They have some potato wedges, onion rings and cheese sticks, all added recently to the menu. None of which, I found, were very good. The onion rings were soggy while the cheese sticks lacked any taste at all.
As for the dessert, they have spectacular chocolate fudge cake; it’s truly out of this world. It’s filled with chocolatey goodness. It has chocolate chips sprinkled on the surface. They also serve Baskin Robbins ice cream.
They also have a wonderful cheesecake; it’s soft and smooth but lacks a bit of crumble.
Pizza Hut is a great family place that’s been around for decades. They have a delivery service and get this: In 2001, Pizza Hut became the first company to deliver pizza to the astronauts in space on the International Space Station (ISS).  For more information log on to
