700 monitors oversee sterilization, other services at Grand Mosque

RIYADH: 700 monitors are being deployed to overseee several services at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.

The monitors will work together to organize field plans for cleaning and disinfecting the Grand Mosque and its courtyards. They will also inspect the health standards of sterilization services, the quality of mobility services, and the standard of operations to distribute Zamzam water throughout the mosque via containers, drinking fountains, and smart carts. 

They will also supervise the progress of work on the ground around the clock to measure levels of performance and implement improvements in cooperation with the relevant departments serving pilgrims and worshippers at the Grand Mosque. 

The duties of the service monitors include supervising technical mechanisms used to distribute Zamzam water and clean the mosque, as well as participating in the continuous development of services.

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Libraries Commission will hold a webinar on Wednesday titled “Cultural houses: from serving the community to building it.”

The event will highlight the transformative role of cultural houses as a renewed model for public libraries, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The session will examine the shift from traditional libraries focused on preserving and lending books to interactive knowledge platforms that empower individuals.

It will also explore how these platforms help build a participatory and productive community within the cultural movement, the SPA added.

The session will also showcase key programs and initiatives, including cultural clubs, workshops, volunteer activities, and community events that promote skill development and cultivate a culture of creativity and engagement.
