ABHA, 11 May  — The government is expected to allocate a good amount of money in the upcoming budget to provide better facilities to overseas Pakistanis, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom Asad Durrani said this at a reception given in his honor by members of the Pakistani community at Trident Hotel in Khamis Mushayt. The reception was organized recently by Pakistanis living in Asir region.


The ambassador also met Asir Governor Prince Khaled Al-Faisal during his visit and discussed issues of mutual interest.


Talking to the community members he admitted that there were problems but expressed confidence that the government would be able to overcome those and achieve its financial and trade targets.


He said the embassy was always ready to solve the problems of the community members.


The ambassador urged the members of the Pakistani community to send their remittances through banks. He said Pakistanis living in the Kingdom should respect the laws of the country.


Referring to the request regarding opening a community school here he promised he would look into the matter. He also announced that the passport taken by the consular team to Jeddah would be sent back by the consulate.


Mirza Gulnar Beg, Qazi Shaukat Ali and Muhammad Naim also spoke on the occasion. Hafiz Shams offered the vote of thanks. The ambassador was accompanied by Welfare Consul Abdul Hameed.


A large number of Pakistanis attended the reception.
