Saudi Arabia inaugurates Arab calligraphy exhibition in Tunis

TUNIS: The King Abdulaziz Public Library, in partnership with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, inaugurated on Thursday the exhibition of Arabic calligraphy in Tunis.

The inauguration came during the meetings of the general conference and the executive council of ALESCO chaired by Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Ambassador to Tunis Abdulaziz Al-Sager highlighted the importance of the exhibition in preserving Arabic calligraphy and exposing the beauty of this element of cultural heritage.

He praised the efforts made by the Kingdom to register Arab calligraphy arts on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

Al-Sager said that this strengthened the presence of Arab calligraphy in society, adding that it was a clear example of the Kingdom’s efforts through chairing ALESCO’s executive council in supporting joint Arab action.

Mohammed Ould Omar, director general of ALESCO, praised the contributions of Saudi Arabia to ALESCO’s work, adding that the exhibition will continue for a full month and will be concluded with an intellectual workshop, which will involve many calligraphers from across the Arab world.

Expert Hub initiative bridges media talent, industry leaders

RIYADH: The fifth Saudi Media Forum, to be held from Feb. 2-4, has launched the Expert Hub initiative to give practitioners and young talent direct access to national media leaders through focused one-on-one meetings.

Designed as a voluntary bridge between generations, the initiative fosters in-depth discussions to empower the next generation of professionals in a dedicated forum space, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

By building these personal connections, the initiative strengthens Saudi media and helps participants gain experience and lasting professional networks.

The forum is a leading annual platform for media professionals and decision-makers. The 2026 event, under the theme “Media in a Shaping World,” will feature more than 150 sessions and 300 speakers.

The event reflects the Kingdom’s growing cultural and media landscape and its role as a regional hub for industry dialogue, the SPA added.
