Multan clashes with Lahore, Karachi to face Quetta in PSL double-header today

  • Lahore Qalandars will be captained by Shaheen Afridi for the first time in today’s fixture
  • Kings and Gladiators lost their opening matches against Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi respectively

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 tournament will feature two matches on Saturday, as Multan Sultans take on Lahore Qalandars while Karachi Kings lock horns with Quetta Gladiators.

Both matches will be held at the National Stadium in Karachi, where the month-long PSL, Pakistan’s own professional T20 cricket league, kicked off on Thursday.

Multan Sultans will look to add to their points tally against Lahore Qalandars after they defeated Karachi Kings in the tournament opener on Thursday.

A confident Multan Sultans side led by Mohammad Rizwan will play against the Qalandars, who are being led for the very first time by left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi.

The match is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.

Karachi Kings will face Quetta Gladiators in the second match of the day. Both sides will be looking to capitalize on each other’s weaknesses to open their account in the PSL.

Karachi and Quetta were both defeated in their opening matches by Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi respectively.

Despite an impressive partnership by Quetta’s openers in the match against Zalmi and an imposing target of 191 runs, the ‘Yellow Storm’ were still able to win the game by five wickets courtesy of stellar knocks by Shoaib Malik and Hussain Talat.

The Quetta Gladiators-Karachi Kings match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
