RIYADH: World’s fifth and France’s second largest retail, Casino Group's Geant, plans to open 15 stores in Egypt with investments of over 1 billion Egyptian pounds ($63.3 million), Head of the Internal Trade Development Authority said.

In partnership with the Authority, the group agreed on opening 15 outlets during the next five years, including hyper, supermarket and express marts, providing over 15,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, Ibrahim Ashmawy said.

He noted that these commercial projects contribute to the economy, as internal trade activity contributes to 21 percent of the country’s GDP.
