Pakistani PM wishes ‘continued progress’ for Saudi Arabia on national day 

  • Kingdom is home to over 2 million Pakistani expats and main source of remittances 
  • PM Khan visited the kingdom in May this year and signed several agreements

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated Saudi Arabia on Thursday on its 91st National Day and wished the people of the kingdom “continued progress”.
Saudi National Day is commemorated on September 23 each year to mark the renaming of the Kingdom of Nejd and Hejaz to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by royal decree of King Abdul Aziz Al Saud in 1932.
“On behalf of my govt [government] & people of Pakistan I congratulate Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HM King Salman bin Abdulaziz; HRH Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman;& brotherly people of Saudi Arabia on Kingdom’s 91st National Day,” Khan wrote on Twitter. “We wish them continued progress under the visionary ldrshp [leadership].”
