RIYADH: Saudi and Emirati military chiefs met on Tuesday to discuss the work of the Arab coalition in Yemen, along with other military issues and ways in which relations can be strengthened and developed to help achieve common goals.
Lt. Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, the Kingdom’s chief of the general staff, welcomed his UAE counterpart, Lt. Gen. Hamad Al-Rumaithi and his accompanying delegation at King Salman Air Base in Riyadh.
They praised the ongoing operations led by the Arab coalition fighting to restore the internationally-recognized government in Yemen, and discussed ways in which these efforts could be supported and strengthened.
Al-Rumaithi also had meetings with Lt. Gen. Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force, at the Air Operations Center, and Lt. Gen. Mutlaq Al-Azima, the Saudi deputy chief of the general staff and acting commander of the joint forces, at the headquarters of the Joint Forces Command.
On Monday, Al-Azima met Gen. Essam Mohamed-Hassan Karar, commander-in-chief of the Sudanese land forces, to review military operations conducted with the support of the Yemeni National Army, and joint efforts carried out as part of the coalition’s ongoing operations.

LONDON: Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, arrived in Cairo for an official visit on Sunday evening.
He is scheduled to meet with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Monday and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Prince Faisal will discuss ways to enhance Saudi-Egyptian relations across various sectors, and talks will also focus on regional developments, SPA added.
