Arab coalition destroys Houthi drone targeting Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: The Arab coalition said it had intercepted a Houthi drone targeting Saudi Arabia’s Khamis Mushait, Al Ekhbariya TV reported early Thursday.
The coalition, which is fighting to restore the legitimacy of the internationally recognized government in Yemen, said it will take all measures to protect civilians in accordance with international law.
The Iran-backed Houthi militia have consistently launched attacks against the Kingdom.

The coalition said the attacks by the Houthis, who seized Yemen’s capital Sanaa in a violent coup in 2014, amount to war crimes.

The UAE and Bahrain strongly condemned the Houthis’ attempts to target civilians and civilian objects in a systematic and deliberate manner in Khamis Mushait.
The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said the “continuation of these terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia reflects its blatant defiance of the international community and its disregard for all international laws and norms.”
The UAE urged the international community to take an immediate and decisive stance to stop these repeated acts targeting vital and civilian installations, the Kingdom’s security and energy supplies, and global economic stability.
The UAE renewed its full solidarity with the Kingdom against any threat to its security and stability, and said it supports all measures it takes to preserve its security and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that these terrorist acts reflect the Houthi militia’s determination to continue its sinful attacks on the Kingdom and threaten regional security and stability, praising the efficiency and vigilance of the coalition forces that were able to intercept and destroy the drone.

Digital Umrah guide enhances pilgrim experience

JEDDAH: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has released the “Umrah and Ziyarah Guide” in 16 languages to provide pilgrims with guidance and regulatory information in their native languages.

The initiative aims to raise awareness and help pilgrims perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind, the Saudi Press Agency reported recently.

The guide serves as an interactive reference covering all stages of the Umrah and visitation journey — from pre-travel preparations and visa procedures to performing rituals, navigating the Two Holy Mosques, and completing departure formalities.

Organized chronologically, it allows pilgrims to quickly access stage-specific information and is enhanced with visuals and digital links to maps, instructional videos, and supporting services.

Topics include ihram, tawaf, and sa’i, etiquette within the Two Holy Mosques, and key services at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, along with organizational and behavioral guidelines to ensure smooth operations.

The ministry said the guide’s launch is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the pilgrim experience, strengthen procedural awareness, and support digital transformation, ultimately improving service quality and facilitating the journey. It is available at haj.gov.sa/Guides.
