RIYADH: The General Authority for Ports (Mawani), in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, on Tuesday finalized deals to localize more jobs at the King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam.
The deals were signed with Saudi Global Ports Co., Zamil Offshore Services Co., and Saudi Development and Saudi Development and Export Services Co.
Under the agreement, 39 occupations related to port services will be completely localized to encourage Saudi youth join the profession.
It is part of an initiative launched earlier this year to localize more than 300 jobs related to port operations. Young Saudi men and women will receive training to better equip themselves to join the labor market.
Saudi Arabia’s strategic location as a hub connecting Middle East with Europe and Africa will help transform the Kingdom into a pioneering global logistics hub. These factors offer an attractive package for investors interested in capitalizing on the lands owned by Mawani.
