Who’s Who: Dr. Mansour bin Saleh Al-Yami, Saudi ministry of transport’s deputy minister for support services

Dr. Mansour bin Saleh Al-Yami has been the Saudi Ministry of Transport’s deputy minister for support services since 2019. The ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, recently launched a campaign to vaccinate its employees and their families against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), an initiative he said was important in stopping the spread of the virus.
Al-Yami gained a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2004 and 2006, respectively, and a Ph.D. in health management from the University of Sheffield, in England, in 2013.
In 2015, he attended major project management training programs at Harvard University, successfully completed a leadership and project management course at the London Business School in 2017, and the following year took part in positive leadership training through the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
He has served as head of the supreme promotion committee and chairman of the training and scholarships board at the Ministry of Transport since 2019.
Prior to joining the ministry, he had been the acting director general of human resources planning at the Ministry of Health where, in 2014, he was head of training and academic affairs.
Al-Yami is a member of the consultative councils of both Majmaah University and Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz University.
He has also been a member of the executive council for education and training at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), a body that regulates and decides on matters related to accreditation, training, and assessment in line with SCFHS rules and bylaws accredited by its board of trustees.

Taif festival celebrates Saudi Arabia’s literary icons

  • It introduces visitors to the contributions of literary pioneers through accessible visual and narrative content

TAIF: A special section highlighting key Saudi literary figures forms part of the Writers and Readers Festival in Taif.

The area explores the lives of distinguished writers, poets, and authors who have shaped the Kingdom’s creative landscape, influencing literature, journalism, theater and intellectual thought.

It introduces visitors to the contributions of literary pioneers through accessible visual and narrative content, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.

Organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, the festival runs until Jan. 15 and features 42 prominent publishing houses from Saudi Arabia and overseas, offering visitors the chance to explore the latest works in literature, philosophy and general knowledge.

Meanwhile, the festival’s interactive murals section engages visitors with openwork art panels, allowing them to contribute to the city’s features and identity.

The murals depict Taif’s natural and historical landmarks, including Al-Hada Mountain, the Taif rose gardens, and traditional Hijazi palaces. Others are inspired by Souq Okaz, a historic literary and commercial center linked to the region’s poetic heritage.

Designed by a visual artist, they blend folk-inspired elements with imaginative expression, creating a collaborative experience that celebrates the city’s beauty and brings art closer to the public.
