Ibex, gazelles released into Al-Soudah Park
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Wildlife, in cooperation with Soudah Development, released several endangered species into Al-Soudah Park in Asir.
Six Nubian ibex and six Arabian gazelles were part of the release, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
It is part of the wildlife center’s efforts to breed and reintroduce endangered native wildlife, intending to strengthen ecological balance, restore biodiversity and boost the appeal of national parks.
Specialized teams are closely monitoring the released animals, tracking their health and behavior in the wild using advanced tools and technologies to assess the success of the release programs and enhance future outcomes.
The center recently also launched a new training program to improve rangers’ skills in capturing, transporting and monitoring animals.
