Saudi civil defense calls on public to be alert as weather warnings issued

RIYADH: Weather warnings have been issued for several regions across Saudi Arabia lasting until Saturday, the Kingdom’s civil defense said on Tuesday.
The authority warned of thunderstorms with light to moderate rain and brisk winds in the capital Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, the Eastern Province, Qassim, Tabuk, Hail, the Northern Borders Province, and Jawf. It also warned some areas will experience heavy rain that may lead to torrential flows and flooding.
The civil defense also warned of thunderstorms with moderate rain and brisk winds in Al-Baha, Asir and Jazan.
The warnings were issued based on data received from the National Center of Meteorology.
The civil defense called on everyone to be wary of the severe conditions, to stay away from places that could flood, and to abide by the civil defense’s instructions and updates announced through media and social media outlets.

KSrelief continues aid projects in Afghanistan and Yemen

RIYADH: Saudi aid agency KSrelief distributed 750 food parcels in Afghanistan reported state news agency SPA on Sunday. 

The aid agency benefited 750 families living in Baghlan province in Afghanistan as part of the agency’s Food Security and Emergency Support Project in Afghanistan for 2025–2026. 

Meanwhile in Yemen, KSrelief provided medical services to 7,815 people in Yemen during the month of November. 

As part of the Cholera Emergency Response project in Yemen, KSrelief provided comprehensive cholera screening and confirmed no suspected cases were recorded.

The project also conducted 673 awareness and health education sessions, benefiting 13,860 individuals.
